Analyst – AM Business Planning

SUMMARY

The role will require the analyst to work closely with their manager and company leadership in the day-to-day management and advancement of the Business Planning Process for Rialto’s varied loan portfolios.  This individual will have a blend of commercial real estate knowledge, loan document understanding and financial modeling skills.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential attributes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in creation, production and finalization of business plans related to the various lines of investments at Rialto.
  • Provide assistance in the review and loading of original underwriting data into Rialto’s Asset Management System(s), as well as auditing of data prior to loading to ensure compliance with investment committee approvals.
  • Assist in the creation, editing and development of business planning models used by Rialto, as well as related processes for production and reporting of business planning models.
  • Perform routine review of loan portfolios for selection of assets to be periodically business planned.
  • Provide assistance where needed to train and/or demonstrate proper utilization of business planning models to asset management and related underwriting staff.
  • Provide for review of models for required updates and/or fixes to models utilized in the business planning process.
  • Perform property-level quantitative credit analyses including: debt service coverage ratio calculations, debt yield calculations, property specific cash flow analysis, tenant roll, and possibly other financial analysis/modeling in order to formulate and substantiate business plan recommendations.
  • Analyze property operating performance through review of operating statements, rent rolls and leases, as related to business planning process.
  • Evaluate and abstract loan documents to ensure proper underwriting of related assets are handled in compliance with the terms of the related Loan Documents within the context of business planning models.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required preferably specializing in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or related business field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience in commercial real estate, property underwriting, CRE Lending and/or loan servicing, or other related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, and related coding abilities with VBA (Python coding ability is a plus).
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Prior underwriting experience in CRE is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and collaborate within a team setting.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop. The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Evening and/or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines.
