SUMMARY:
Rialto is seeking to add an Associate to its Miami-Based Loan Workout Team within the Asset Management department. The Associate will work closely with asset managers, supporting them in their day-to-day management and resolution of a portfolio of loans consisting primarily of specially serviced CMBS loans, in addition to other distressed loan assets. The ideal candidate will have a blend of commercial asset valuation skills, legal contract experience, and provide exceptional underwriting for new portfolio acquisitions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct and support the implementation of loan workout strategies for non-performing loans.
- Engagement of and interaction with third party consultants including attorneys, receivers, management/leasing companies, appraisers, and environmental engineers.
- Provide comprehensive analysis and support for non-performing loan and real estate portfolio underwriting.
- Thorough understanding of and compliance with the governing loan documents (if any), loan servicing agreements, REMIC regulations, investor reporting requirements and state and federal laws governing foreclosures, receivership actions, and bankruptcies.
- Presentation and recommendation of resolution strategies to company leadership.
- Support asset managers in quarterly business planning and cash flow preparations and projections.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Initiative, including the ability to complete complex tasks timely and independently.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required, preferably specializing in Commercial Real Estate or Financial related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the workout of non-performing commercial real estate loans or asset dispositions.
- Advance knowledge of commercial real estate, fixed income, and general financial concepts.
- Knowledge of bank, conventional, agency, and/or commercial mortgage-backed securities origination and servicing is recommended.
- Ability to underwrite commercial real estate and/or residential acquisition, development, and construction transactions, as well as possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level proficiency working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, in addition to a basic competency working with Argus and CRE Market Data Providers.
- Adaptable and flexible team player, who can collaborate with various internal and external teams while driving projects forward efficiently.
