Cash Processing Specialist

SUMMARY:

Quantum Servicing, a leading nationwide Servicer, Asset Management and Loss Mitigation resolution provider to the mortgage industry, is seeking a Cash Processing Specialist for our Tampa, FL office. Responsibilities may include a focus on or a blend of; Processing Payments, Loan Analysis, Loan Corrections, and various other tasks as required per the governing loan or Investor documents. The ideal candidate will have expertise in at least one of the areas above.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process payments received by standard mail daily.
  • Batch, reconcile and enter all daily mail and wire payments received into a proprietary payment inventory database.
  • Ensure all payments received correspond to the correct borrower accounts.
  • Process and post payments into the system of record according to procedures
  • Process and post other loan level transactions including, but not limited to, charge offs, payment in kind, escrow payments, corporate advances, suspense posting, refunds, adjustments, and non-cash payment transactions.
  • Analyze and prepare resolution worksheets for Asset Management approval.
  • Process and post all bank returns.
  • Prepare the daily reconciliation report and process the daily deposit through the Remote Deposit Capture system.
  • Collaborate with Asset Managers on posting instructions, resolutions, and reinstatements.
  • Continue to stay educated on specifics regarding commercial loan servicing and various loan products.
  • Identify process gaps and enhancements and collaborate with the supervisor to improve overall efficiency and quality.
  • Meet departmental standards for processing timeliness and accuracy.
  • Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties and special projects as assigned.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in business management or real estate is preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years of experience with mortgage servicing, cash processing and relevant industry practices.
  • Commercial mortgage servicing related experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing commercial loan documents; specifically, waterfall for payment application.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to professional and personal excellence/achievement.
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on daily production.
  • Participation in month end procedures required.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to details
  • Excellent PC skills, including word processing & spreadsheet applications.
  • Evening and weekend work is at times required.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop. The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Evening and/or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines.
