The VP of Finance plays a key role in the finance function and is responsible for oversight of financial planning, forecasting and analysis processes and models on a consolidated and operating level basis.  Additionally, the VP of finance is responsible for oversight of the Company’s valuation process including the accurate valuation of debt instruments and real estate equity investments on the Company’s and affiliate funds balance sheets. 


  • Develop, execute and manage the Company's annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial planning and variance reporting processes.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process. Budget should consist of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow reports. Create and gain consensus on budgeting process to recommend to senior management. Determine the schedule, content and format of output to facilitate decision-making; work with business operators to gather required inputs to budget, summarize and evaluate inputs, and produce preliminary and final budgets suitable for presentation to management and incorporation into financial reporting infrastructure.
  • Determine the frequency, content, extent and process of intra-year budget revisions, leading to a rolling budgeting process.
  • Integrate annual budget and quarterly update with a longer term financial plan.
  • Develop enhanced reporting, analysis of results and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Senior Management.
  • Support the accounting and financial reporting functions for external and internal reporting, SOX and other internal compliance matters as they relate to forecasting and planning.
  • Prepare integrated financial statement projections and related supporting schedules.
  • Lead the valuation process of various types of debt instruments and real estate equity investments.
  • Maintain and implement recurring updates to valuation models; maintain valuation model documentation.
  • Model, analyze, validate and implement improvements to the Company’s valuation assumptions, methodologies and practices.
  • Analyze and explain changes in valuation across the Company and affiliate funds and identify drivers of valuation changes.
  • Oversee and respond to review of valuation models, process and results by internal valuation committee and independent auditors. 
  • Lead the initiative to identify and implement appropriate forecasting / valuation software or other automated tool.
  • Provide support with presentations for Investors, Partners, and Board of Directors that communicate from Management the Company’s financial performance.
  • Responsible for and participate in the capital allocation process and working capital management.
  • Cash flow analysis (NPV, ROI, IRR) and business modeling.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
  • MBA or CPA or CFA is required
  • 10 to 12 years of experience
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge
  • Knowledge of Hyperion Planning or related systems is preferred
  • Experience with cash flow modeling and approaches to discounting cashflows
  • Knowledge of real estate and private equity fund accounting principles is preferred
  • Practical knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Ability to think creatively beyond financial boundaries and clearly articulate ideas to Executive Management
  • Demonstrated experience of financial modeling and forecasting skills
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving ability
  • Excellent time management skills, with a deadline orientation
  • Must be available for weekend and after hour work which includes and is not limited to responding to emails in a timely manner and completing tasks based on directives given from supervisors


While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop.  The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines.
